Zoo Camps in San Diego
Zoo Camps in San Diego at Wild Wonders are great fun! Your kids will meet our awesome “creature teachers”, participate in great activities, and learn what it’s like to be a zookeeper.
Your child will spend half a day with our staff of biologists, life scientists, and zookeepers learning about animals from all over the world. Campers will help care for a selection of the 100+ exotic animals that make their home at Wild Wonders. Our skilled educators will teach the campers about various adaptations and survival strategies employed by the animals, using fun, interactive games and activities.
Zoo Camps begin at 9AM and run until 1PM. There will be a break in the middle for the children to have a snack. Due to the variety of nutrition needs of each child, Wild Wonders asks that the children bring their own snacks.
Zookeeper Mentor Program
If your child is 13 or older, we offer an exclusive 1-1 program. Your child will spend half a day working side-by-side with professional zookeepers. By participating in the daily diet preparation, training, cleaning, and other animal care tasks, students will gain first-hand experience in animal husbandry, training, and enrichment. In this unique, hands-on program, participants will discover that it takes dedication and hard work to work in the animal field. This is a unique interactive ONE ON ONE experience will be customized towards your child’s interests and is offered year-round!
Family Zoo Camp
Mom, Dad, and the kids together, will perform various animal husbandry duties, learn about conservation efforts with endangered species, and get a full, private tour of the facility. Plus, there will be plenty of opportunities for photos of this shared experience that will be lifetime keepsakes, and that will be a special hit in your holiday newsletter.
This is priced at $395 for a family of four. Additional people 12+ are $50.00. Additional people between 6-12 are $25.00.
Other Animal Encounters
You can feed a bearcat, meet a cheetah, fawn over a fennec fox, walkabout with a wallaby, watch a cat training session with one of our servals or our lynx, or check out our reptiles on one of their feeding days. Can’t choose just one? You can combine any of our Encounters to create YOUR perfect visit.
