Few people have ever heard of these unique and fascinating little rodents!
If you lived in the South American rainforests near a river, you may be familiar with these polka-dot coated little guys. They love the water and are great swimmers. In necessary, they can dive underwater and hold their breath for 15 minutes when they feel threatened.
Pico, Piña, and Poquito enjoy their resort-like setting here. They are often found in their pond or nibbling on the nearby grasses.
But life for these little guys isn’t all hanging by the pool. At Wild Wonders, our pacas play very important roles in teaching people about rainforests and about the benefits of seed dispersal that they provide in the rainforest ecosystem.
Come enjoy a “paca-palooza” and meet one of them face to face on one of our tours or experiences.
