Reptile Encounters in San Diego

If you love reptiles, this Reptile Encounter is for you!  We have reptiles from South and Central America, Africa, Eurasia, and Australia / Asia, and you’ll have feeding and/or hands-on interaction with a variety of them.

Our Reptile Encounter is both indoors and outdoors.  Our reptile room is home to animals that like warmth:  iguanas, snakes, uromastyx, a legless lizard, a skink, a cane toad, and our Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches.  For their comfort, we keep it nice and warm and a bit humid.  Outside, you’ll meet some of our tortoises and turtles (snappers and red sliders) and watch a training session with one of our alligators.

We offer this Reptile Encounter only on feeding days, so this is not for squeamish people. Many of our larger reptiles receive whole prey that has been frozen and then defrosted, while the smaller ones get live mealworms or crickets.

ALL OF OUR REPTILES ARE EITHER RESCUES OR OWNER RELINQUISHED.  NONE WERE TAKEN FROM THE WILD.

Pricing

• The price is $285 for 4 people over the age of 8.
• Additional people ages 12 and over:  $50
• Additional people ages 8-12:  $25

Included in this price is a tour of our 5-acre facility where you’ll come face to face with many more exciting animal ambassadors from all over the world.

You’re sure to get your fill of our multiple snakes (python, rosy Boa, King snake) and lizards.  And don’t forget Thelma & Louse, our red eared sliders, Sally, our snapping turtle, Little T, our desert tortoise, and Rocky our box turtle.  And if you’ve never seen a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach, they are not to be missed!
