Our Summer Zoo Camps are back!
On Tuesdays and Thursdays between June 29 and August 5, your animal loving children (ages 6-12) can see what being a Zookeeper is all about. Our Junior Keeper-For-A-Day Zoo Camp allows them to participate in a hands-on half day camp that gives each child a unique, up-close and personal experience with this exciting career.
Your child will spend half a day with our staff of biologists, life scientists, and zookeepers learning about animals from all over the world. Campers will help care for a selection of the 100+ exotic animals that make their home at Wild Wonders. Our skilled educators will teach the campers about various adaptations and survival strategies employed by the animals, using fun, interactive games and activities. The camp curriculum adheres to national science standards, and includes interactions and unique animal encounters with a range of exotic animals.
Camps begin at 9AM and run until 1PM. There will be a break in the middle for the children to have a snack. Due to the variety of nutrition needs of each child, Wild Wonders asks that the children bring their own snacks.
Masks are required, hand sanitizer will be plentiful, and the recommended social distancing guidelines will be followed.
WHY ARE MASKS STILL REQUIRED? We love our animals and we know you do to! Therefore, as things slowly start to return to normal and the CDC releases new information about vaccine safety and masks, please be aware Wild Wonders will continue to require all guests to wear a face mask while visiting (even if fully vaccinated). This is due to the fact there are no animal vaccines readily available yet and we house a variety of sensitive animals including our cats, primates, and mustelid species. This requirement is for both our guests’ safety as well as the animals.
The price for the Junior-Keeper-For-A-Day Zoo Camp is $85/child.
See our Zookeeper Mentor Program for young adults (13+).
Cancellation and rescheduling policy: Zoo Camp reservations are NOT refundable. If possible, we will attempt to accommodate rescheduling requests received more than 24 hours before the scheduled camp date, however due to limited dates and maximum number of participants a rescheduling request cannot be guaranteed.
