Archimedes (aka Archie), is a great horned owl. He came to Wild Wonders in the summer of 2009 in need of a home from a rehabilitation center. He was a spring hatchling that fell out of his nest and was non-releasable because his injuries were so extensive. He had to have around the clock care to nurse him back to health. Once Archie was stable, Wild Wonders’ dedicated staff was able to begin socialization and training to help Archie become an important animal ambassador. It took many months, but the training paid off and Archie has become an amazing education ambassador for his wild cousins. He loves his daily dinners of frozen defrosted mice, and is very curious about the outside activities around his enclosure. Owls are great pest control, and can eat hundreds of mice a year! Adopt this “hooter” today, and help keep him full of his yummy rodent dinners!
